THRACE. Philippopolis. Hadrian, 117-138. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 32 mm, 25.47 g, 6 h). ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟϹ Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΦIΛΙΠΠOΠOΛEITΩN City-goddess standing front, head to left, holding patera in her right hand and grain ears and poppy in her left; to left, river god Hebrus reclining right, resting right on urn and holding reed in his left hand. RPC III online 746.7 (this coin). Varbanov IV.4.2.1.2.1. (this coin). Very rare. Somewhat smoothed and with light pitting, otherwise, very fine.
